This Wednesday, April 17, the new Netflix docuseries ”Our Living World” premieres worldwide. It is a blockbuster nature series narrated by Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett, revealing the complex ecological interactions that unites all living creatures across diverse ecosystems on our shared planet. The reintroduction of jaguars into the Iberá wetlands of northern Argentina will be one of many fascinating stories presented in the series.

The Netflix production team spent a month in Iberá Park documenting the Jaguar Reintroduction Project, an initiative co-founded by Tompkins Conservation and Rewilding Argentina, which is restoring the top predator to Iberá Park, contributing to the recovery of a fully-functioning ecosystem and promoting the culture, identity and economic prosperity in the heart of Corrientes.

The last chapter in the series highlights the restoration efforts that are being made across the the globe to restore critical ecosystem interactions. The Iberá jaguar Juruna, along with her cubs Sãso and Sagua’a, are stars of one of the segments, which explores how they are modifying the abundance and behavior of prey species like capybaras. And their story continues -the three jaguars continue to roam Iberá- Juruna has given birth to two more litters and Sãso and Sagua’a have also become mothers.

Once again, Argentina is highlighted as a world leader in cutting-edge conservation strategies, known for its active rewilding projects like Iberá, which has become one of the outstanding wildlife viewing destinations in the world.
